University of California, For Official Use Only

I have a show up in Gallery 479 at the University of California, Santa Barbara. It is running for another 2 weeks!

Statement of the work:

“The title of this show you see everywhere all over campus – on cars, trucks, vans, etc. Yet, we only know they exist to serve our interest within the University “Officially”. Meaning: they are to serve no other purpose once this label is applied, but can this purpose go beyond the structure itself, or does it stay confined by it’s own design? Through these works I am interested in our direct relationship with the custodians of these structures we surround ourselves with; My interests lying in the notion of the pedestrian as well as the allusions that the form of the work implies. In this time, in this place, (UCSB) Art is the crux of a larger movement that is transcending itself in profound ways, these works are meant to serve as a part of an ongoing dialog of art that exchanges ideas through everyday interactions.”
